An Overview of the Numerical Relativity Code: openGR
Paul Walter (St. Edwards Univ.)

openGR Collaborators: Andrea Nerozzi, Jon Allen, Matt Anderson, Richard Matzner, Greg McIvor, Uli Sperhake, and Paul Walter

A modular framework to support large simulations in numerical relativity, the SAMRAI-based (Structured Adaptive Mesh Refinement Application Infrastructure) finite-difference code openGR is capable of solving and evolving general spacetimes. When treating black hole mergers, most of the simulations carried out to date have been proofs of principle, such as QC0. Here, we outline the capabilities and current status of openGR with an emphasis on scaling and convergence tests.
