Superconductivity in Quark Matter

I review recent advances in our understanding of dense matter from the viewpoint of an effective field theory describing modes near a Fermi surface. The ground state of 3-flavor matter at sufficiently high density exhibits color-flavor locking, in which the color and flavor orientation of the di-quark condensate are coupled, causing color-superconductivity.
