Studying strong correlation effects in optical lattices
Ignacio Cirac (Max-Planck Institute)

Neutral atoms in optical lattices provide an ideal set-up to study strong correlation effects. I will present here some proposals to investigate spin lattices and ladders in this system, which so far have not been experimentally accessible with solid state systems. Atoms in optical lattices may help to confirm theoretical predictions and provide new insights in those systems.
