Bundles of 1d Gases Out of Equilibrium
David Weiss (Penn State Univ.)

1D gases out of equilibrium in the intermediate coupling regime are relatively tractable experimental systems, but pose challenges to theory. I will describe a set of experiments in this regime, and attempts to theoretically model them. The largest focus will be on coupled bundles of 1D gases, where experiment-theory comparisons suggest a hitherto unconsidered self-trapping mechanism.
