Recent numerical calculations by Yasui and Kita clearly show the difference between quasiparticle spectra in the vortex lattice of s-wave and d$_{x^2-y^2}$ superconductors. In the s-wave case low energy bands are flat reflecting the localized nature of Caroli-deGennes-Matricon vortex core orbitals. In contrast, the low energy bands in a d$_{x^2-y^2}$ superconductor are broadly dispersive indicating extended nature of all states.
