Our identifiation of the anomalous Nernst signal with superconducting fluctuations may be tested by using Nd-doped LSCO which displays static stripes. We briefly review this material here. Doping LSCO with Nd induces a structural transition from orthorhombic to tetragonal symmetry between 70 and 80 K (the LTT-LTO transition). Anomalies are observed in \rho and \rho_{xy} [Nakamura et al. PRB 92]. Tranquada and coworkers discovered static charge ordering (followed by spin ordering) consistent with static stripes starting at the LTT-LTO transition (Tranquada et al. Nature 1996; see Tranquada's talk in this workshop). For our purpose, we note that the Meissner state is suppressed to below 8 K for y = 0.6 and x = 0.10.
