Surface Acoustic Wave Devices for Hybrid Quantum Devices
Andrew Barabas, Mentors Ania Jayich and Jeffrey Cady (Physics)

We characterize the electromechanical coupling coefficient of a thin film of Aluminum Nitride on top of single-crystal diamond using Laser Doppler Vibrometry measurements of surface acoustic waves generated by interdigital transducers on top of the film. This characterization allows us to determine the feasibility of employing such a device as an electromechanical interconnect in diamond hybrid quantum devices.
