Posner clusters and quantum processing in the brain Mentors Matthew Fisher and Joshua Straub (Physics)
Nick O'Dea

My research tests a model for quantum computation in the brain. The model proposes that quantum information is stored in phosphorus nuclear spins, and this information is protected and biologically transcribed by a calcium phosphate compound called a Posner cluster. My research goal is to identify the conditions under which this Posner cluster exists to test this model's validity.
